Blake Gibson’s drawings, paintings and prints explore the quiet hostility of the natural world. This exploration is an attempt to transform despair into peace of mind about the ever-changing nature of all things.

Gibson was born in Taylors, South Carolina. He received his MFA from the University of New Mexico in 2005 and his BFA from the University of South Carolina in 1995. He lives and works in San Francisco, where he is currently a resident artist at Root Division.
