The world in which we live cannot be so neatly defined as pure darkness or pure lightness, yet this does not leave us in a static world bereft of meaning. Rather, this provides us with opportunities to explore the realm of infinite shades between the shades, be they physical or emotional. These paradoxical grey realms are both perplexing and enlightening, optimistic and dangerous.

Through an exploration of grey, and the connotations associated with the word grey itself, we come to understand that it is this intermediate area between the poles of black and white through which we experience the mysteries and subtleties of life. Camouflaged in this liminal area and revealed through shadows, our mind understands grey as a color representation of transformative essence.
