I am driven by the excitement of making poetic discoveries in the mundane. This is accomplished by mining the visual landscape of everyday life and cultivating an aesthetic experience out of what is usually seen as trivial, disposable, or made in error. The drawings, photographs, and videos that result are meant to convey traces of memory and feeling informed by the process and materials used. Through the use of everyday materials, destructive gestures, rudimentary mark-making, and chance, each piece emerges from discord and distress. My goal is to develop beauty in diverse forms, each vulnerable and unexpected, yet captivating.
