Fiscal Year End Party!
Root Division invites you to the F.Y.I. PARTY

PARTY! - Wednesday, June 24, 2009 8:00 - 11:00 pm

Live Music including: Blancos Locos & A Decent Animal

BRING YOUR FRIENDS!
$5-$20 Sliding Scale

We would like to invite you to come out & to support Root Division one last time before the end of our fiscal year. While the economic climate has been rough for everyone, Root Division's low-cost programming has been thriving over the past 12 months -- both our Adult Ed class enrollment and Second Saturday event attendance numbers are up, and we've seen a spike in volunteers interested in teaching free art classes to youth in our Youth Ed Program. As we approach the end of our fiscal year, our earned revenues are right on target and we've tightened the belt on expenses, but individual donations are lower than anticipated.

This is where you come in... We know times are tight, but that you still want to support arts & arts education in San Francisco. AND we know you look to Root Division for an inexpensive way to have a fun evening where you can meet artists & soak up what's happening in the local arts scene. So we are inviting you to do one or both of the following:

1. Come to our FYI Party this WEDNESDAY NIGHT (June 24) to hear some great local bands & to check out our current exhibition "Leave the Capital" - Admission is on a sliding scale of $5-$20.

2. Make a donation to Root Division by TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2009
by visiting our donation link

Root Division is testament that small contributions can make a community of difference. Any amount you can give -- $5, $20, $100 -- will help us reach our goal of raising $5000 before the fiscal year comes to a close!

ABOUT ROOT DIVISION:
Root Division is an arts and arts education non-profit located in the Mission District of San Francisco. Root Division's mission is to improve appreciation and access to the visual arts by connecting personal inspiration and community participation. We provide subsidized studio space to working artists in exchange for their service in creating shared learning opportunities for the community. Artists develop creatively and professionally by teaching art to underserved youth, leading adult education classes, and producing exhibitions that showcase local emerging artwork. By combining multiple opportunities for creative exchange, Root Division cultivates an artistic ecosystem that enriches life throughout the Bay Area.

Root Division is supported in part by grants from Grants for the Arts: SF Hotel Tax Fund & Voluntary Arts Contribution Fund, The San Francisco Foundation, Walter & Elise Haas Fund, and the Potrero Nuevo Fund. The Second Saturday Exhibition Series is sponsored by the Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation, the San Francisco Arts Commission through a Cultural Equity Grant/Organizational Project Grant, the Fleishhacker Foundation, and the Zellerbach Family Foundation.

For further information regarding events and/or press materials, please do not hesitate to contact Selene Foster at 415.863.7668 or events@rootdivision.org.
