OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS & FILMMAKERS:
3 MINUTE FILM FESTIVAL at ROOT DIVISION

Second Saturday August 2008
The 6th Annual San Francisco 3-Minute Film Festival
Saturday, August 9, 2008 - 7-11 pm

Root Division & the Three-Minute Film Festival want YOU to be a filmmaker!

Register to participate by Monday, June 30 (Though we are still taking late entries, so you CAN still register now), make a three-minute film/video in the month of July, and turn it in by Friday, August 1.

The 3-Minute Film Festival was created in 2001 by Chris Baty, our hero, who had the dream of getting people to spend 30 days embracing the spirit of uncritical invention. Chris moved on to many awesome pursuits including National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org) and The Office of Letters and Light (www.lettersandlight.org), and left the festival behind to be randomly, somewhat annually organized for you. Why? Because we love to make films just for the sake of making films, we love to watch films and laugh, and we love YOU.

How it works:
  • Sign up! You can officially register by paying your $10-$25 sliding scale donation fee here:
  • Send an email to confirm participation: threeminutefilmfestival@yahoo.com
  • Think about it. You can do all the dreaming and story boarding and actor seeking you want but wait until July 1 to…
  • Make your movie! You have the month of July to film and edit your 3-minute masterpiece and then…
  • Mail it to 3-Minute Headquarters: PO BOX 401019, San Francisco, CA 94140. All films must be transferred to DVD and received by Friday, August 1. And then…
  • Kick back and reap the rewards at the Black Tie Gala & Film Screening on August 9!
